Hello, Cleveland!

[ 9.02.2006 ]

The Rapture's album has leaked, so go to Hype Machine if you want it. My two personal favorites are "Don Gon' Do It" and "The Devil" which you can grab over at Swoon. As promised, it's not as dark as Echoes, which as much as I loved was hit-or-miss at times. In terms of track-to-track quality I think this one is going to be comparable, except for the fact that Echoes had two incredible bookend tracks ("HOJL" and "Sister Savior"), while I'm still waiting to see if I get as into any of these.

Junior Boys: Not their real house.

September 12th, the same day the new Rapture album comes out, will also see the release of Canadian duo Junior Boys' second LP So This is Goodbye, which from what I hear I like even more than 2004's Next Exit. It's similar to their first album in the sense that it's essentially sparse electronic music with vocals, except this time it's a little funkier. In other words, it's cool but still inaccessible enough that Pitchfork thinks it's the best thing ever. They hit the Middle East on September 5th.

Homework is meaningless. Or something. I tend to think it's ridiculous for little kids to do tons of homework, so I can see where they're coming from.
