We adopted a new country for the Argentina-Mexico game
Going to the World Cup is a pretty overwhelming experience. For twelve days our crew lived on trains and cramped hotel rooms, hitting Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt, Bonn, Cologne, and Leizpig among other cities. All told we made it to five games, including four games in four days in four cities between the 21st and 24th. Highlight was definitely the Argentina-Mexico Round of 16 game, as well as seeing Ronaldo break the all-time goal-scoring record against Ghana. Pics are on facebook.
It was disapointing to see Brazil crash out against my least favorite team in the world, but they really hadn't played up to their abilities for most of the tournament. Ronaldinho wasn't bad but didn't demand the ball and became too marginalized, and in general they seemed content to almost be a little too simple at times. I saw way too many long balls for a team as skilled as the Brazilians.
Meanwhile, Leo Messi in limited duty was cementing himself as my new favorite player, shimmying past his Barca teammate Ronaldinho for that non-honor. It was disappointing and tactically stupid not to see him against Germany, but so it goes. His performances against Serbia, Holland and Mexico show a ton of promise.

Perhaps my favorite character of all time on Conan is The Interrupter. They've got another one over at nbc.com/conan.

Can a guy who is only 6'2" do a 720 dunk? Apparently. Even if it's just a 540 it's pretty much the coolest dunk I've ever seen. Check out more from TJ Fontenette including a 360 between-the-legs dunk here.
