It's the transformers post. Why? I don't know, but for some reason all signs point to Transformers of late. So let's dedicate it to Nina, my favorite Transformers fan. Back in 1985 there was a movie (watch the whole thing here) set in 2005, and now in 2006 we've got a live action movie planned for 2007. If you'rew wondering what it might look like, check this Citroen car ad. The movie won't be quite as gay though. Though it might not have Transformers breakdancing though.
And of course, here's some pertinent music:
Fredrik Saroea / "Le Theme de Transformers"
Freddy is half of Datarock, one of my favorite Norwegian bands. So it was really only natural for him to sing the Transformers theme in French.
Gnarls Barkley / "Tranformer" (yousendit, left-click)
Their album finally came out on Tuesday, and while this isn't about shape-shifting robots from the future, it meets the minimum standards to be posted here.

Big Stereo provides the first single from the forthcoming Sleepy Jackson record, Personality. Lovers was one of the best albums of '03, so I have high hopes. With most songs I like, I can tell you more or less the basic elements explaining why I like it, but the Sleepies are tougher to quantify. This one's got a countryfied, Pulp transported back to the '70s feel to it.
The Sleepy Jackson / "God Lead Your Soul"

Levitt and Dubner once again get their freak on, this time tackling talent vs. practice. A little fluffy, but cool.

It's stuff like this which really makes me think religion sucks. In a related note, the Iranian soccer team has asked for extra security at the World Cup because they fear terrorists will attack them. Call me crazy, but if there's any team at the World Cup that doesn't have to worry about terrorists...

Guy Pearce always seems to disappear for a few years, then come back with something surprisingly good. Here's his new flick The Proposition, written by Nick Cave of all people.

In light of all the BS I've gone from liking Tom Cruise to being totally annoyed by him, but I still saw MI3 with Ray last weekend. And it was pretty good. There, I said it.
