So the first new Elefant song from their forthcoming album The Black Magic Show was pretty meh, but any song named "Clown" should suck at least moderately. Fortunately the first single is significantly better, once you get past the usual Diego Garcia triteness at the beginning.
Not as good as "Bokkie" but at least a less embarrassing title I guess. They will be touring with BRMC this spring (again), meaning we'll see them in Boston at Avalon on Friday, February 17th.

When I saw the headline "Black sergeant was loyal klansman" I immediately thought of the Chappelle Show sketch, but turns out it's not quite that funny. Not nearly as good as "Samuel Jackson Beer" or a lot of other sketches, but still.

I have been meaning to post this: Stereogum's Miss Indie Rock 2005. Personal comments:
1. Jenny Lewis? Really? Is that the best we can do?
2. Feist is incredibly average looking. I know people like her (well, not Kevin) but shouldn't you still have to be attractive? If you're going to go with a Broken Social Scene alumnus, you gotta go with Emily Haines.
3. Cat Power and Annie aren't super hot per se but they definitely deserve their top 10 spots, more so than anyone else in this group.
4. The lack of Amanda from Stellastarr* is nothing short of ludicrous.
