Hello, Cleveland!

So I was catching up on SNL on my DVR and saw the digital short "Lazy Sunday" from a couple weeks ago which is pretty hilarious. We all knew Parnell did those little raps (kinda meh) but throw in Andy Samberg and it just takes it to another level. And I guess it went over so well thatthe NYT did a little story about it.

I'm a big fan of recent addition Kristen Wiig as well. Everyone seems kind of down on the show, but I have to say I like the current cast...they're coming around. People always seem to forget that Will Ferrell wasn't even funny for his first two years or so, yet people just say it sucks since he left. Oversimplifying motherfuckers.

I came across French duo Villeneuve on Bliss Pop and am liking what I've heard so far. Villeneuve is a producer who has also remixed M83, while vocals on the album are by Melanie Pain. They make melodic pop music, usually built on an electronic chassis, though there's guitar and other stuff mixed in and the tempo varies a lot. From pics on their site they appear to have a traditional band setup, with Villeneuve on guitar, a la Anthony Gonzalez of M83. You can stream clips from the very promising-sounding album HERE. Bigstereo has more info, as well as the first mp3 below (which is much better than the second).

What happens when Chris puts this many circus peanuts in his mouth? Watch THIS to find out. In fairness to Chris, he holds the county record for saltines eaten in a minute. Also, circus peanuts are fucking disgusting.

Btw, you can hear me say "zirkus Erdnüsse" at the beginning which is my crude German translation for circus peanuts (long story). This is also a fine example of my annoying laughter, btw, though it's not the full out whooping laugh that Brian and I do.

School catches up to reality. This very tangentially reminds me of how growing up in middle school and high school we were always told how Japan's economy was the best thing ever, and then I got to college and learned they'd actually been in a recession for the past decade. Let's keep this shit up to date, people.

Long overdue link to a Danish band discovered by Mulley called Low Frequency in Stereo. They have kind of an Interpolish vibe, but what really stands out is how fucking exasperated the chick's vocals are. Exasperated is the only word I can think of to describe it. It's like she ran all the way to your house from Denmark just to sing this fucking song, but now she's really winded and tired, and her lyrics don't make much sense. But as far as music goes it's surprisingly decent.

I've always liked physics (Modoggie Physics Team anyone???) but this also kind of makes my brain hurt. Moral of the story: don't smoke bobs and do quantum mechanics at the same time. Wait, the cat is both dead AND alive?

You could hurt yourself.
