Spielberg's Munich looks great.
I've never seen "The Producers" but apparently Will Ferrell is in the new movie version.
I've been hearing about Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain for a long time...my guess is it's either going to be fantastic or total shit.

There are certain music videos that I remember watching over and over in the '90s for almost no reason aside from the fact that they were on. I guess it's that same tolerance for nondescript stimulation that led me to watch The Neverending Story at 10 am on a Sunday two weeks ago (I had totally forgotten about the whole book-in-a-movie aspect to it). Either way, Biggie's "Hypnotize," those weird Tool videos, the Alicia Silverstone-edition Aerosmith videos, and of course John Mellencamp and Me'Shell Ndege Ochello's inspired cover of "Wild Night" were among the videos which always seemed to be on, and which I just couldn't convince myself not to watch.
Another one of those videos was Nine Inch Nails' "Closer," whose heavy rotation was all the more inexplicable since the song's thesis statement--"I want to fuck you like an animal"--wasn't terribly basic cable-friendly. Anyway, it's an OK song, I've never been tempted to download it or anything, and that pretty much sums up my feeling about NIN. I can respect the fact that Trent Reznor became a mainstream figure in music while maintaining a relatively inaccessible sound, but hardcore industrial/metal has never really been my cup of tea.
All of which makes NIN's latest single "Only" all the more puzzling: it's really fucking good. Check the video HERE. Basically it's just an incredibly badass bassline, some syth overlays, and Trent Reznor blathering about random shit. But it's all about that bassline...he could be singing about a recipe for fish tacos for all I care.

The legend is back: Neil <> has a new album. Try reading the quotes without thinking of the Will Ferrell impression.

So Nina has liked Isolee for a while but I hadn't given them much of a listen until I found an mp3 over at the super-excellent One Louder. It's a kind of funny but cool little song instrumental that sounds like Mahjohngg's "Stubborn Horse." Wow, that comparison will resonate with no one. But it's true. Isolee is German Rajko Mueller.

Yikes!
