Hello, Cleveland!

I picked up on Danish band Mew over at Torr, and have been really impressed so far. It kind of reminds me of Paloalto and Kent, in the sense that it's by no means a ground-breaking sound, but just extremely well-constructed alternative rock music. And it also has a proggy side to it, kind of like a more sensitive Muse perhaps. They've released four albums already, and the last two--Frengers and the new LP And the Glass Handed Kites--are both very good. Here's a directory with Frengers.

I'm currently debating whether to hit up the Franz Ferdinand show this Saturday...the only question is whether Cut Copy is going to be there, which I've heard conflicting reports about (most everywhere says yes, their website says no...). Their label has a video of their recent exploits. Here's another Cut Copy mix:

As I pulled into work this morning and ejected my CD the radio came on and I heard about Google earmarking profits for charity. Only I just caught the tailend of the story and didn't hear what company it was. Now, I'm not a huge Googlephile (Googler?), but it says a lot about a company's image that my immediate assumption was that they were talking about Google.
