The Hype Machine is a cool little site which searches blogs for music. So if you are looking for a Spoon song, type "Spoon" into the search box and it will bring back links to recent blog posts with songs by the artist. Many of the cached MP3's have died with the original links, but it's a nice little resource nevertheless.

Like pretty much everyone else in the world, I loved Batman. Christian Bale is perfect, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman add both humor and an understated sincerity to the film, and it just has the epic confidence that you want from a blockbuster. The action tends to be choppy and difficult to follow--normally something I HATE--but I think that's largely a deliberate reflection of the overall tone of the film. Unlike most films, this movie puts the hero in the shadows, almost like a reverse horror movie. You feel the tension and fear of the bad guy as he waits for Batman to strike out from the shadows, the narrative manifestation of the reversal of Bruce Wayne's fears. Anyway, I saw it twice in the first three days it was out and will buy it the day it hits DVD, so that pretty much tells you what you need to know.

Some of the coolest action in the film comes during the Batmobile sequences. When I first saw photos of the Batmobile I was pretty confused because I was used to the sportscar concept, but when you see the film it makes total sense. Anywhere, here's a cool article talking about the origin of the Batmobile's design.

Speaking of cars...I guess Ferrari wasn't thrilled enough that the Enzo was the fastest accelerating, most agile road car ever to reach production. So now they're coming out with the FXX, an 800 horsepower, modified version of the Enzo, set to cost about $1.8 million. Kinda ugly, but you can't argue with the results I guess.

Speaking of ugly, check out the wheel wells on the new Mercedes S-class...YIKES. Other than that it looks sharp...but it's kinda hard to miss.
