Hello, Cleveland!

[ 2.24.2005 ]

One of my fave all-time bands Kent just released their first new song in more than two years. As per usual, it is in Swedish, because they come from Sweden.

There's a proper trailer up for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, starring Martin Freeman (Tim from "The Office"), Mos Def, and Sam Rockwell. Looks good to me.

French women DO get fat.

I love Stephen Colbert, yet I don't make a habit of watching the Daily Show. Well, allow me to make up for that a little bit more, following on the heels of yesterday's post.

Another brilliant idea from the Russians.

Very funny actual movie script ideas, posted by a guy in the business as a way of feeling less insane: Query Letters.

I remember liking the early trailers for Garden State because I liked Frou Frou's "Let Go." This song is also pretty good.

So Hakim Warrick is my favorite college basketball player, and here is his dunk of the year. The extension is ridiculous.

I've been curious as to how Pitchfork would treat the Bravery...I haven't been optimistic, given the massive first-mover bias Pitchfork usually has, and given that many people peg the Bravery as new wave opportunists riding the Killers' coattails (who weren't liked by Pitchfork in the first place). So I was predicting The Braverywould get something like a 4.5-5.5 rating. Which really shouldn't
matter, but hell, I like for bands I like to be respected. So sue me. Anyway, Pitchfork reviewed "[An] Honest Mistake," which along with Tyrant is by far the best song off their forthcoming album...and they weren't too harsh.
