In the previous post I mentioned Cut Copy, and I finally just went ahead and bought their debut cd Bright Like Neon Love because I was at Newbs' and it was 14 bucks, which seemed OK since it hasn't gotten a major release. Plus I felt like buying something. I don't know all that much about them, but they're evidently an Australian band with one guy (Dan Whitford) who is the resident mastermind.
Anyway, there's a terrific pair of tracks which bleed together on the album that I conveniently found for you to download as a single mp3, courtesy of Just a Gwailo:
Cut Copy / "That Was Just a Dream" / "Zap Zap".
I especially like the "Zap Zap" part, though I really enjoy the whole album. While Cut Copy in general shade more to the pop side of the electro-pop spectrum, listening to this song you can't help but wonder if they might have hi-jacked Daft Punk's studio when they put this together. Some of the sound progressions are eerily reminiscent of DP...but that's OK.
