Sadly the DFA79 show was cancelled last night, but in looking for an explanation (bassist Jesse F. Keeler has the flu) I also discovered a couple vaguely interesting tidbits. This article is very interesting, and tells us that Jesse Keeler's dad was a guitarist for Steppenwolf, and that JFK was previously a stock broker. So there you go.
More importantly, I found a remix of a Panthers song done by MSTRKRFT, which is Keeler and DFA79 producer Al-P (they don't have any albums or anything). I think I listened to a couple Panthers songs once and they weren't anything special, but this song is pretty dirty:
Panthers - Thank Me With Your Hands [MSTRKRFT Remix]
I'm not sure what the original sounds like, but this has a danceable bassline, thumping beat, ample handclaps and some cool vocals befitting of a DFA79 labelmate. Just a fucking sweet song.

Vice Records (home of the Stills, DFA79, the Streets) will also be releasing Bloc Party's forthcoming disc on March 29 (segue #1).
Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke does some nice vocals on the song "Believe" off the Chemical Brothers album (segue #2)that came out on Tuesday. I picked it up on the strength of the aforementioned "The Boxer," but then got absolutely blown away by the lead single "Galvanize." It has Q-tip on vocals and when I sent it to a select audience the other night I described it as the perfect theme song to an Iranian version of "Knight Rider" starring Omar Epps. If you hear it, this might actually make sense. Anyway, it's a fantastic song (even if it drags for a staggering 6:34), and also worth checking out from the album is "Surface to Air."

Unmasked: check out some baby Daft on the right.
Found a couple more Daft Punk songs from their album coming in March (the previous links are now dead): and "The Prime Time of Your Life" and "Technologic." And here's something kind of odd which I had never seen:Daft Punk and Juliette Lewis in a Gap ad together. In spite of her appearance and acting ability, I've always had a soft spot for Juliette Lewis. Fortunately for Daft Punk, they continue to disguise themselves...Juliette's not so lucky in this one.

An Iraq documentary without an obvious political slant: Gunner's Palace. Nice.

Napoleon Dynamite fans take note: all your fave phrases, on demand. Aaron Ruell, who plays Nappy's pathetic loser bro Kip, has some interesting pictures at his website.

We got to talking about shoe sizes at lunch somehow, which inspired me to look up who in the world has the biggest feet. Turns out it's Matthew McGrory, the guy who played the giant in Big Fish, which was a great movie. Size 28.5...jesus. For reference's sake, Shaq has size 22's. Other weird records.

Because oncoming traffic is fun.

This isn't even close to the best pic in the gallery, either.
I guess this guy is a stuntman or something, but I think his site is getting traffic that's mostly laughing at him, not with him. He reminds me of a combination of Tobias from Arrested Development and Lumbergh from Office Space. Check out his glamor shots, and then some sweet bike tricks. Notice the only trick he really does his flipping himself over the handlebars.
