Hello, Cleveland!

CD of the moment: Everyone Down Here by Earlimart. On the right you can see two of my fave tracks on the disc--the "fun" and garage-ish feeling "We Drink on the Job" and "Lazy 23" which is kind of tougher to describe...not that it's very complex, but tougher to describe. I also really like "The Movies" and "Big Ol' Black". Overall the sound is kind of like a garage band that shaped up, found pianos, and learned the value of good production; there's a lot of darker tracks on this album, breaking from Earlimart's previous two albums that were self-admitted Pixies rip-offs. It was written and produced Aaron Espinoza, the band's lead singer (middle, below with drummer Davey Latter and bassist Arianna Murray), while Jason Lytle of Grandaddy co-produced the album and along with fellow grandfather Jim Fairchild played a major role in the recording process...I think this was probably in a previous blog. MTV has some videos and shit about them here

Oh, and I remembered to start reading The Onion online again. Everyone knows about The Onion, but it should be checked weekly.
