The first tape I ever owned was To the Extreme (the only Vanilla Ice album anyone bought), which my sis got for me through her Columbia House deal. I can still remember riding in our Saab to Haugen's baseball card shop. It must have been spring of 1991 or so, because my mom drove Mike Ostby, Chris Dunn and myself on a nice day into Thiensville to buy packs of 1991 Upper Deck baseball cards. I guess we were all in fourth grade at the time, and we took turns rapping a verse of "Ice, Ice, Baby" along with the stereo. How badass were we? I know, not very. Funny how some memories stick with you.
