So the other day I was sitting there thinking about my financial situation. It's unbelievable how little money I have given that I don't spend it. I came back from Paris down about $500-600, even though I had everything paid for me while I was in Germany and in Paris I had €230 for four nights hotel/apartment and other than that I didn't buy any durable goods (vs. everyone else who bought $150 shirts and shit). I mean, thinking about my spending habits there's not much to suggest I would go through money very quickly:
1) I have never paid money for alcohol.
2) I have never paid money for illicit drugs.
3) I have never bought jeans for more than $50, a shirt for more than $65, and my Brooks Brothers suit I managed to only pay $210 for (it was $420 but when I got the cash register they charged me only half...apparently they don't tell you about their sales until you've already decided you will buy a suit for a higher price...nice business). In other words, I don't spend much money on clothes (yes, it shows, NEHHHH).
4) I don't go out to eat much at all.
5) I have never had a girlfriend (which is obviously worth spending money on, but it can be a drain).

I technically wasn't paid last summer and I don't work during the school year, so I suppose that's the reason why I feel as though I have very little money (which at this point equals basically my signing bonus + about $400). So I'm not broke, but Christ, I'm feeling a little pinched. I haven't spent any money on DVDs (about 50 or so, none of which I watch much) or die-cast model cars this year, but I think it's safe to say far too much of my money has been spent on those items over the last couple years.
I think I've made a lot of progress in my toy car collecting: I haven't bought one in about 7 months. That said, I still have way too many:
