Finding great music is almost like collecting to me..."having" the song is great but there's something really cool about the moment of realization when you first hear it and something clicks. When I saw Magnolia freshman year I went home and that night downloaded "Save Me," by Aimee Mann, and since then I've found myself to like the majority of songs she records. Her last album didn't get great reviews but I think it's as good as any of the others I've heard (and loved). I was going to buy it the other day but couldnt find it at Newbury Comics. Anyway, tonight I found the best song off the album, and it might be the best song I've ever heard by her (we'll see how I feel once I have some critical distance): The song is called, "It's not."
Maybe it's because I like both movies and music, but when I hear a great song it makes me think of where in a movie it would be perfect. Not a specific movie, but just "a" movie, and why does it seem like the best songs go at the end? Well for now, this song is going at the end.
